Our Favorite NY Wedding Venues
Recently engaged? YAY! Now the fun starts! What to do first? Finding a venue should top that list after you discussed budget and guest list with each other. Let us help you with your venue search.
Selecting the perfect venue is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your wedding. I mean, you have to love it... after all it does help set the vision of your most perfect day. There are many factors that go into this big decision: location, price point, guest capacity, indoor/outdoor, waterfront, barn, gardens or raw space lofts... the list goes on and on. Not to mention that there are hundreds of venues to choose from that makes it so fun, but also makes it even harder!
How do you choose? This is where Whitney Events comes in! We love helping couples with their venue search! Having a planner to guide you through the process is a huge help. We can narrow down your choices, vet out availability, provide you with a side by side comparisons, budget management (we need to make sure you budget for the the rest of your vendors) and we save you TONS of time, so you can think about the wedding party and other super fun details.
In honor of our love of venues we would like to shout out to some of our favorite spots in and around NYC.
Tribeca Rooftop : Amazing downtown NYC views, phenomenal food and the coolest outdoor rooftop for pictures! There's also a super fun staircase for a grand entrance, first look or just kick butt photos.
We also love the onsite managers and how seamless it is to work with them!
Stonewall Estate: Ok, seriously, if you haven't been up to the Catskill Region of NY, you MUST run (don't walk) , well... maybe drive there! About 3 hours north from NYC is a seriously stunning barn that can hold 300 guests. A house on property that sleeps 14 included in your weekend. Fresh air, local town charm and an absolutely gorgeous mountain backdrop that is seen from every angle. Plus, how cool to cap the night with an enormous bonfire and not just any bonfire... we mean BIG! The owner is a gem to work with and is very hands on the entire time, offering local suggestions and you will even see her riding around guests in her personal golf cart to make sure they get to the "next" spot safely.
The Roundhouse: So, not interested in going 3 hours away...how about cutting that time in half and head north up the Hudson to Beacon, NY? We had the absolute pleasure of working with the Roundhouse team for the first time last year and when you check it out, it'll speak for itself. Gorgeous reception room, wooden beams, brick walls, outdoor area overlooking the falls, onsite lodging and hands on attention. The Roundhouse is something special. Bonus: Beacon is a super chill town with lots of restaurants and bars and can be accessed via train!
Riverpark: Riverpark by Tom Colicchio is located on the East River, amazing food, fun outdoor terrace with an in house sound systems and decorative string lights. A beautiful interior that really does not need much at all! You need to get a little creative with larger sized weddings but it always remains true to creating an intimate true NY experience. ** Perfect for weddings up to 120 guests.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden: The BEST garden wedding you can ask for. Historical, beautiful and fun for your guests to visit if they haven't been. Offering multiple ceremony options, a spectacular atrium for your reception and nature all around you- you can not beat this Gem of a venue in Brooklyn, NY. The professionalism of the management and the team are 5 star!
Sleepy Hollow Country Club: Looking for more of a traditional venue that is both regal and cozy? Look no further, it's nestled in the heart of Westchester County. Under an hour from NYC and stellar views of the Hudson River, this picturesque mansion will steal your heart. Your ceremony backdrop offers views of the hills and Hudson river. Guests have access to the mansion for lodging and some back up wedding plans but the true hit is a gorgeous semi-permanent tent (accommodating up to 400 guests!) that is exclusively for you!
OMG we could list a ton more but we will leave you with these 6 to start. Want to learn more about these venues or our planning services, please contact us!
